DVI-A cables are designed to carry an analog signal. This 3.24 foot black cable is perfect if you have a newer graphics card with a DVI output and a monitor that only supports VGA. DVI cables are used with newer video cards and monitors for higher resolution. DVI-D (Digital) can not convert to VGA (Analog). Only DVI-A (Analog) can be converted into VGA (Analog).
